Construction Technology I & II

Prerequisite: NCCER Core Certification from the Principles of Construction Course (Grade 9+)

Course Descriptions

Construction Technology is a four year program comprised of Principles of Construction, Construction Technology IConstruction Technology II, and Practicum in Construction Technology. Students will be working towards earning NCCER Certifications. The NCCER Core Certification must have been earned in the Principles of Construction course before the student is eligible to enroll in Construction I and earn the NCCER Carpentry Level 1 Certification.

Construction I, students gain knowledge and skills in safety, tool usage, building materials, codes, foundations, and residential wood framing techniques. Students will frame a basic wood frame structure with a door and window.

Construction Technology II , students learn exterior and interior finishing techniques and steel framing. Students will finish a completed wood framed structure while working towards the NCCER Carpentry Level 2 Certification.

    • 30% IBC Tests

  • Recommended Equipment: Work Boots/Steel or Composite Toed Work Boots
