Law Enforcement

Credits: 2 (Double Block @ Career & Technology Institute)

    & Law Enforcement I

  • Law Enforcement II

    & Criminal Investigations

  • Practicum in LPSCS and/or Forensic Science

  • Non-Commissioned Security Officer Level II

Course Description:

Law Enforcement is a three year program comprised of Law Enforcement I, Law Enforcement II, and Practicum in Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security.   This program is designed to provide an overview of the history, organization, and functions of local, state, and federal law enforcement. The Law Enforcement program provides the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for a career in law enforcement. Topics studied include the role of constitutional law, the United States legal system, criminal law, law enforcement terminology, ethical and legal responsibilities, operation of police and emergency telecommunication and courtroom testimony. Additionally, students have the opportunity to earn the Security Officer Level II.
